Dr. Rahul Pulimamidi, PhD graduate from University of the Cumberlands, was recently featured in by TechBullion for his impact in the world of healthcare via his research on emerging technology that could benefit the field.

The article noted Dr. Pulimamidi’s dedication to finding innovative ways technology can enhance the healthcare system, thus improving the overall experience of those receiving (and administering) medical care. Per the article, “[Dr. Pulimamidi’s] work with AI, IoT, and machine learning is crucial in addressing the evolving challenges of the healthcare industry, paving the way for a more personalized, efficient, and accessible healthcare system.”

Dr. Pulimamidi completed his PhD in information technology at Cumberlands in 2021 and has made a name for himself among IT research circles, particularly those which combine healthcare and technology. Noteworthy research articles of his include “Leveraging IoT Devices for Improved Healthcare Accessibility in Remote Areas: An Exploration of Emerging Trends” and "To Enhance Customer (or Patient) Experience Based on IoT Analytical Study Through Technology (IT) Transformation for E-Healthcare,” as well as an article he co-wrote entitled “Explore The Application Of Machine Learning Algorithms To Analyze Genetic And Clinical Data To Tailor Treatment Plans For Individual Patients.” These and other articles can be viewed on ResearchGate.

Additionally, he is a member of the editorial board for the Asian Journal of Multidisciplinary Research and a peer reviewer for the Journal of Science & Technology as well as Measurement: Sensors. Dr. Pulimamidi is also a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and has a patent for the Development of Machine Learning Approach for Anomaly Detection in IoT.

Other Cumberlands students and alumni have garnered awards and attention recently as well, with one student winning the Scientist of the Year award by the International Achievement Research Center and others pursuing research connecting technology and healthcare in notable ways.
