The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) has named University of the Cumberlands collegiate chapter as the recipient of the 2022 National Chapter of the Year Recognition Program Service Award. This award recognizes a program that exemplifies outstanding service and dedication, demonstrating exceptional service to NAfME through community outreach, improved educational experiences in music, and creating and maintaining affiliations with other organizations.
The Chapter of the Year recognition was developed to encourage chapters to plan and execute successful chapter music programs, professional development projects, recruitment techniques, and service projects. A committee made up of sitting NAfME Collegiate National and Division chairs select the Chapter of Excellence. Recognition of excellent programs is conferred annually and based on activities completed by the chapter.
