University of the Cumberlands (UC) will host Kentucky Legislators during a meeting of the Interim Joint Committee on Education, taking place Monday, Aug. 28, at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

“We are pleased to have the Interim Joint Committee on Education meeting on campus to discuss education issues here in Kentucky,” said Dr. Larry Cockrum, UC President. “We invite and encourage the community to attend this meeting for the opportunity to see the legislative process in action.”

The meeting’s tentative agenda includes discussions regarding changes to the teacher certification program, an overview on school-based decision-making councils, an update on AdvanceKY, and a review of executive orders pertaining to the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.

Community members and interested parties are invited to attend the meeting, which will take place in the Kohn Theatre of the Grace Crum Rollins Fine Arts Center.
