The university is one of only two Kentucky schools included on the list

Shortly after being included on Money magazine’s list of most affordable schools in the nation, University of the Cumberlands has again been recognized by the publication – this time for its online undergraduate programming.

Whereas the earlier Money mention placed Cumberlands as the top school in the state specifically relating to affordability, this new listing is unranked. It is meant to “help prospective students find a school where their time and tuition is likely to pay off… with a focus on costs, employment rates, typical salaries and online resources.”

Two Kentucky schools were included in the list: University of the Cumberlands and Murray State University. Comparing the two based on statistics listed on Money, Cumberlands has more than double the online undergraduate enrollment, costs half as much per year, and graduates students whose employment rate is nearly identical.

“We focus not only on making college affordable at Cumberlands, but also making sure our programs are relevant and will adequately prepare students for life after graduation,” said Dr. Trey Jarboe, provost and executive vice president of academic affairs at the university. “Our priorities are centered around our students. We do our best to facilitate opportunities for them to achieve higher understanding, strengthen skills, mature as individuals and service-minded members of society, and network with mentors and potential employers. At Cumberlands, everything comes down to our students and how we can best service them, setting them up for success now and in the future.”

The university’s main campus is located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where it hosts in-seat undergraduate courses. Its online presence has expanded over the years to include undergraduate and graduate programs. Cumberlands currently offers 30 undergraduate programs entirely online, giving students the flexibility to work at their own pace and balance life outside their schoolwork. As part of Cumberlands’ One Price Promise, all students have access to textbooks for free. Learn more at www.ucumberlands.edu.
