Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Campus will close on December 18 for the holidays and will reopen on January 2.

University of the Cumberlands’ (UC) online bachelor’s in human services degree program was ranked first in the state of Kentucky in a recent listing by TheBestSchools.org.

Rankings were based on the quality of programs, the types of courses offered, the faculty, rankings, awards and reputation, including the school’s reputation for effectively providing online degree programs.

“It is wonderful seeing our online programs continue to be recognized for their excellence,” said Dr. Christopher Leskiw, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. “We are delighted that our human services program delivers such a high-quality, affordable education for our students. Our online programs operate under a servant-leadership mentality; our students want to gain skills to help serve others, and we work to serve and equip them in turn.”

Cumberlands accepts applications on a rolling basis, and admitted students can begin classes at the beginning of any term. All online students pay the same affordable tuition rate, regardless of state residency. UC accepts transfer hours from any regionally accredited institution.

“The students are truly the heart of UC’s human services program,” said Jennifer Knuckles, Department Chair of the Human Services program. “The faculty of this program integrate their own field experience into classroom discussions and lectures, bringing the content to life for studåents. Students then have the ability to navigate through the major in a variety of ways, and the options continue when students enter the field of human services after graduation.”

Cumberlands’ online human services degree curriculum emphasizes courses that enhance self-awareness and increase understanding of personal values, while fostering appreciation of diversity and the needs of humanity. Education is provided in the areas of professional helping skills, behavioral theory and current social issues. Upon completion of the campus or online human services degree, jobs you may pursue include probation officer, community service manager, counselor and probation officer.
