All who enjoy seeing quality paintings, drawings, and sculptures are in for a treat this spring. From now until April 12, the fall semester artwork from art majors and minors at Cumberlands is on display on Cumberlands’ campus in the Luecker Building exhibit hall (room 220).
Artists on display include Sarah Smith (junior; Jellico, TN), Hannah Carrier (sophomore; Louisville, KY), Fran Newman (Williamsburg, KY), Chelsie Chambers (junior; Oneida, TN), and Emily Loredo (freshman; Pine Knot, KY), among others.
“It’s about giving students the opportunity to have outside viewers come in, interact with the artwork, and share their thoughts,” said Russell Weedman, art professor and department chair. “It’s a democratic process, looking at the artwork collectively and whittling down the options to the final show. Many students are represented, and there is a focus on quality.”
The exhibit hall is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. All are welcome to visit and view the artwork.
