Kara Stanley is a faculty member and instructional designer with 17 years of experience in STEM, adult learning, accessibility and universal design. She began her career in higher education as an adjunct teaching environmental science and biology, and has a wide range of teaching and instructional design experience across higher education, state and local government, and private industry.
She lives in rural Oklahoma on acreage that she's been returning to native habitat, and is the president and social media coordinator for Pug Hollow Sanctuary, a small dog hospice that cares for elderly and terminally ill dogs under 25 lbs. She's passionate about ecology, environmental issues, and accessibility in online education. In 2023, she received the Oklahoma Online Excellence Award for Accessibility from the Council for Online Learning Excellence and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education for her continued efforts in creating an inclusive, accessible learning environment.
