Professor Kyra Gambrel is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who specialized in and practices Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology medicine. She has served in healthcare since 2000 originally working in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. She currently practices in both the hospital and outpatient settings for CHI Saint Joseph Health in London, KY. Professor Gambrel grew up locally in Williamsburg, KY, and continues to reside close to the University. She is married with three sons, one who is currently attending UC and majoring in Pre-Medicine. Professor Gambrel is an active member of several professional Nurse Practitioner organizations on the state and national level and currently presides as the Regional Director for the Kentucky Coalition on Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives (KCNPNM). Her hobbies include spending time with her family, traveling, reading mystery novels, and cooking. In her spare time, you can usually find her sitting in the bleachers at a football field cheering for her sons. She is a loyal supporter of the Corbin Redhounds and UC Patriot Football.
