Dr. Stacy Swafford is a Tennessee native who is an adjunct professor for the University of the Cumberlands. Prior to entering higher education, Dr. Swafford had a varied work experience which started at a national laboratory. She has worked in both the healthcare and financial sectors, and she is an avid sports fan.
Her dissertation topic focused on retention of first-time, full-time freshmen in Applachian colleges, and so she has a heart for the Appalachian region. She enjoys all outdoor activities, including kayaking and hiking. A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, she deals just fine with the Atlanta Braves fans who live around her. She and her husband have two grown children, three dogs, and three cats.
