Dr. Kippers has over 10 years of experience counseling adults with symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief/loss, life transitions, and substance use disorders. She has counseled clients in numerous settings, including non-profit residential addiction treatment, intensive outpatient program (hospital), non-profit residential addiction treatment, outpatient addiction treatment (private), community mental health center (private), non-profit social detox, university career center, and her own private practice. She has experience providing individual counseling, group therapy, and couples therapy. 

Dr. Kippers’ began teaching in 2002 as adjunct instructor teaching face-to-face counseling graduate courses at the University of New Orleans and Southeastern Louisiana University. She has been teaching online since 2007 and has taught at University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), Capella University and Yorkville University (Canada). Dr. Kippers served as Program Director, Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling Program at UALR and Director, MACP Department of Field Training at Yorkville University. She currently serves as Adjunct with The Chicago School of Psychology, as Full-time faculty with Southern New Hampshire University, and recently joined as Adjunct, Department of Clinical Counseling (Counselor Education & Supervision) with the University of the Cumberlands.

She has given over thirty presentations at national, regional and state counseling conferences on topics related to clinical supervision, private practice management, and boundary issues in counseling. She has co-authored four publications which address diagnosis and treatment planning, countertransference, retention predictors in substance use disorders IOP programs; and, co-edited a book on transformative learning in relationships. Her research interest is in clinical supervision.

Dr. Kippers has served on the Louisiana Association of Counselor Education and Supervision Executive Board; Louisiana LCA PAC Silent Auction Committee; Louisiana Association for Addictions & Offender Counseling Executive Board; President, Chi Sigma Iota, Alpha Eta Chapter; and Chair, Graduate Student Activities Committee for the 1999 ACES Convention. At the 2019 Louisiana Counseling Association Conference, she was awarded the Senior Counselor Educator Award by the Louisiana Association of Counseling Education and Supervision.
 
Dr. Kippers resides in St. Francisville, Louisiana with her chihuahua “Pepe.” She enjoys time with family and friends, trying out new restaurants, antiquing, reading, and music.
