Dr. Megan Bessey is an Adjunct in the Graduate Business program with a primary focus in Public Administration. She previously taught at the undergraduate level at Beckfield College for over six years in the field of criminal justice, specifically criminal investigations, firearms, administration, law, and procedure.

She is currently employed as a Principal Planner at Planning and Development Services in Kenton County, Kentucky serving over 165,000 residents in 20 jurisdictions where she started as a Certified Code Enforcement Officer and advanced quickly through promotions. She currently collaborates with a variety of municipalities to create custom comprehensive plans, update existing plans, and create a feeling of community through leadership across Northern Kentucky.

She is an active member in the National Society of Leadership and Success, OKI’s Environmental Justice Advisory Committee, American Planning Association, and the American Association of Code Enforcement/International Code Council. She is also a Kentucky Concealed Carry of Deadly Weapons (CCDW) Licensed Instructor.

Dr. Bessey presented at the 2024 David Allor Conference on the topic of Zoning Horizons: Unveiling New Ordinances for Adaptability, Foresight, and Accountability, the 2021 Summer Global Education Conference for the University of Riverside on the topic of Social Change: Organizational Socialization and Ethics in Policing, and the 2019 APA-KY Fall Conference on the topic of Development Capacity: Statistics and Geography.
