Dr. Lenore Mitchell Pollard was born in Oakland, CA. As the daughter of a career soldier, she had the opportunity to experience living in four states and the Panama Canal Zone. She has lived in Eastern Kentucky for years now and proudly claims Kentucky as her home.
Dr. Pollard has 24 years of college-level teaching experience, 20 years of administrative experience, and three years of marketing and sales experience. She has written and chaired Quality Enhancement Plans (QEP) and QEP steering committee for SACS reaffirmation of accreditation. Dr. Pollard has also performed marketing research for two Fortune 500 firms.
For the last 24 years, Dr. Pollard has taught business administration at Alice Lloyd College where she also chairs the Business Administration Department, Leadership Education Program, and Quality Enhancement Plan. Dr. Pollard has received the Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award three times and served as Faculty President.
Dr. Pollard’s most recent research projects include: Thinking with Purpose: Entering the Realm of Responsibility through Enhanced Critical Thinking, and Presidential Leadership Styles and Innovation in Private Liberal Arts Institutions of Higher Education. She has made numerous presentations to educational, professional, civic, and church organizations. Titles of these presentations include: Innovation and Leadership in Contemporary Organizations; Becoming a Citizen Leader; Leadership and Motivational Styles; Conflict Resolution; Team Building; Becoming a Great Follower; Critical Thinking and the Purpose Road; Career Correspondence; Dress for Success; Professional and Social Etiquette; Strategic Planning; Time Management; and Business Ethics.
In her spare time, Dr. Pollard enjoys kayaking, hiking, and paddle boarding. Her most valued accomplishments are her relationships with Christ and her family. During her junior year at Alice Lloyd, she accepted Christ as her Savior, which she expresses is the most rewarding decision she has made in her life. She is happily married to her husband, Robert C. Pollard, and they have three wonderful children named Tannon, Mitchell, and Viola Faith.
