Dr. Laura T Dolley's teaching philosophy contains four specific elements with room to grow. First, she believes that every one of her students can be successful and she is here to help them achieve that success. Second, the classroom focus is on learning not competing. Third, academic honesty and integrity are extremely important, and finally, her goal is to foster an environment of student-centered learning.
She also believes very strongly about sharing herself as an educator. Her personal objective is to ensure that everyone succeeds, and she is very passionate about learning. Education is so important and establishing clear communication, timely feedback, and realistic goals are her top priorities.
Some personal items about Dr. Dolley include when she is not working or teaching, she can be found spending time with her husband of 31+ years, their son, daughter-in-law, daughter, and grandson, along with four fur babies: Patches (a basset hound), Blue (our retriever), two cats (Boots & Julius), and five fish. She is an avid disc golf player, loves puzzles, British mysteries, and is a semi-professional singer (all genres except Rap.) Finally, an interesting fact: she grew up in Carmel, CA and Clint Eastwood was the town's mayor. She and her family moved to Iowa in 2000 to live where their kids could have a wonderful childhood and great schools.
