Karla McCarty has over two decades of experience working in education in a variety of capacities. In 2020 she was inducted into the Kentucky Women in Education Leadership Forum and she was recognized as the 2018 Counselor of the Year. Karla has served multiple state committees for the Kentucky Association of School Administrators and she often travels throughout the state and country providing professional development sessions and conference workshops on multiple educational topics, including school culture and climate improvement, assessment, school program improvement, and strategic decision making. In her spare time she likes to strap on n her backpack and take a walk in the woods. She has conquered the Camino de Santiago in Spain, the Grand Canyon, and the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. She is currently section hiking her way north on the Appalachian Trail.
