Dr. Bill Simpson was born and raised in this area of Southern Kentucky. His professional background includes years of experience in public education, corporate human resources, as well as experience in teaching graduate education, and serving on doctoral dissertation committees. Dr. Simpson is the author of 2017 Amazon Baseball Bestseller "Our Game Too: Asian-Pacific Americans in Major League Baseball", and is the co-author of several articles on literacy and Social Studies. Dr. Simpson is married to Dr. Jennifer Simpson, who is also a Professor here at University of the Cumberlands, and they have one child, Jack. The Simpsons live just a short drive from campus in Pine Knot, Ky. Dr. Simpson and his family are active in the church and in the community. An avid baseball player, Dr. Simpson enjoys coaching his son's basketball and baseball teams, hiking, volunteering in the community and at church, spending time with his family and friends, and traveling.  Dr. Simpson and his wife first met here at Cumberland College when they were both students in 1998, and this university has been an important and wonderful part of their life ever since.
