Dr. Angela Pope started teaching at the college level and as a Strayer University Information Systems and Business Professor in 2009 where she received the University Faculty Leadership Award at 2017. Additional experience includes Pope’s work in the position or Information Technology Consultant and Trainer in North Carolina State Government.  She has also served on project teams to provide support for the Human Resource Management System, Budget Utilization and Development System, Child Nutrition software packages for State and Federal Education Departments, North Carolina School Districts, and Charter Schools. With functions that expand to support internet applications, training internal and external administrators, and test the software applications.

Dr. Pope worked for the Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Automated Data Services (CJLEADS) Program as an Applications Systems Analyst II providing the opportunity to help maintain the criminal justice database of comprehensive data about offenders through a web-based application. Where she retired in June 2016 with more than 28 years of service.

Dr. Pope enjoys mentoring youth and participating in numerous community service projects with the sorority members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She likes teaching because she believes in empowering students with the knowledge to expand their careers. She always wants her students to know to “Never let anyone destroy your desire to learn something new. I did it, so can you!”
