Mr. Threlkeld joined the music faculty in 1990 and currently teaches Music History, World Music, Woodwind Techniques, Jazz Ensemble, Clarinet and Saxophone.
He is the Leader of Miss Direction, a band that performs music from a variety of styles and plays in the Kentucky and Tennessee regions. David is also a saxophonist in area bands; the Somerset Big Band, the MetroGnomes and the DiMartino/Osland Jazz Orchestra (DOJO).
Recently, Mr. Threlkeld was a faculty member at the Jamey Aebersold 2018 Summer Jazz Workshop, and he was chosen as conductor of the 2017 KMEA All-State Jazz II ensemble. He is a member of KMEA, NAfME, and JEN (Jazz Education Network).
He is happily married to Marsha and they have a wonderful 16 year old daughter. He and his family are active members at their church.
