Ashton Leach began her teaching career at Science Hill Independent in Science Hill, KY. She was the 6th-8th grade Language Arts teacher for 12 years. While at Science Hill Independent, she was an 8th Grade Class Sponsor, coached the middle grades Academic Team, and established student voice by constructing a heavily involved Middle School Student Council. In 2022, she moved to East Bernstadt Independent School where she continued teaching 6th-8th Grade Language Arts. She was awarded the Campbellsville Teacher of the Year-Excellence in Teaching Award in 2024. Throughout her 14 years in the classroom, she eagerly integrated technology into her curriculum.
In the Summer of 2024, she moved to higher education and the University of the Cumberlands became her home. In her faculty position, she serves as a Field/Clinical Coordinator as well as an Assistant Professor in the School of Education. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
