Olson Commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Army


Todd Olson is commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and was pinned by his father Steven Olson.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.-During commencement events at University of the Cumberlands (UC) on May 7, UC student Todd Olson (Corbin, KY) was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army.

MAJ Eddie Simpson, Assistant Professor of Military Science at Cumberlands, administered the Oath of Office to Olson.

The newly commissioned officer had the gold bars of a Second Lieutenant affixed to his uniform. The bars were pinned on Lieutenant Olson by his father Steven Olson.

With the commissioning, Olson is now the Nation's newest Army officer as a Second Lieutenant.
