Cumberlands Student Johnathan Elliot receives Kappa Delta Pi Scholarship Award

 


Williamsburg, Ky – University of the Cumberlands (UC) Education department presented Johnathan Elliot with the Kappa Delta Pi Scholarship award during the annual Honors Day ceremonies on April 25th, 2011 in the O. Wayne Rollins Center.

Elliot is a junior pursuing a major in Music Education with a minor in Religion.

As an active member of the UC music department, Johnathan participated in the department’s Haiti Relief fundraising program and was a part of their Relay for Life team this spring. He also participates in the concert band, the marching band, and the percussion ensemble.

While a student at UC, he has also worked with the high school instrumental programs at Wartenburg, Oneida and Campbell counties in Tennessee.

Kappa Delta Pi is the International Honor Society in Education. Recipients of this award must demonstrate leadership skills, possess high moral and ethical standards, and exhibit the promise of becoming a professional educator of distinction.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
