Cumberlands Student Delilah Devore Receives Award for Excellence in Special Education

 


Williamsburg, Ky.– University of the Cumberlands (UC) undergraduate department of Education recognized Delilah Devore (Smithfield, Ky) for excellence in Special Education during the annual Honors Day ceremonies on April 25th, 2011 in the O. Wayne Rollins Center.

Devore is graduating with dual certification in both middle school mathematics and special education for preschool through high school.

According to department members, she has been a “mainstay in the department as education faculty and others across campus prepared for our recent reaccreditation.” She is currently on the Dean’s list and is a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Kappa Mu Epsilon.

The Education department also recognizes students excelling in elementary, middle, and secondary education.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
