SAMANTHA COMBS RECEIVES H.N. AND FRANCES BERGER SCHOLARSHIP

 


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky- University of the Cumberlands presented Samantha Combs (Tyner, Kentucky) with the H.N. and Frances Berger Foundation Scholarship during the fifty-second Honors Day Convocation on Monday April 25, 2011.

The H.N. and Frances Berger Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund was established at Cumberlands in 1983 by Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Berger to recognize exceptionally bright young people who have demonstrated high academic ability.

A junior biology major and health science minor, Combs received the Berger scholarship for the 2011-2012 year. She is currently a high honor student having attained a minimum of 3.85 cumulative standing.

Following graduation, Combs plans to attend medical school or Cumberlands’ Physician Assistant program.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
