MICHELLE WEBER RECEIVES GEORGE I. ALDEN SCHOLARSHIP

 


WILLIAMSBURG, KY- University of the Cumberlands presented Michelle Weber (Louisville, Kentucky) with the George I. Alden Endowed Scholarship during the fifty-second Honors Day Convocation on Monday April 25, 2011.

The George I. Alden Endowed Scholarship Fund, established in 1981 by the George I. Alden Trust, provides one-half tuition scholarships for six students and full tuition scholarships for two students; all of who must be majoring in scientific areas.

A junior chemistry major and math minor, Weber received the one-half tuition endowed scholarship for the 2011-2012 year.

Currently Michelle is an honor student having attained a minimum of 3.70 cumulative standing. She is also a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon, the national honor society for mathematics, and Gamma Sigma Epsilon, the national honor society for chemistry.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
