Jeffrey Barnett Receives Gorman Jones Scholarship

 


Williamsburg, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands presented the Gorman Jones Scholarship to Jeffrey Barnett (Jellico, TN) during the annual Honors Day awards ceremony in the O. Wayne Rollins Center on April 25th, 2011.

Jeffrey Barnett is a junior pursing a major in Biology and a minor in Spanish. He is the great grandson of Kenneth and Camille Jones of Jellico, Tn.

The Gorman Jones Scholarship is awarded to a deserving student that shows evidence of strong academic proficiency. It is named after former Cumberlands professor Gorman Jones, who labored from 1891 until 1936 in service of local youth and the college.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
