WILLIAMSBURG, Ky- University of the Cumberlands presented Jacob Moak (Prestonsburg, Kentucky) with multiple honors during the fifty-second Honors Day Convocation on Monday April 25, 2011.

Son of Tom Moak and Jo Ann Harvey, Jacob will be graduating with majors in Spanish, Political Science, and Business Administration. Currently, Moak is the Student Government Association president, a position he has held for the past two years.

Moak is a member of the Spanish, the French (Pi Delta Phi), and business honor societies (Sigma Beta Delta). He was recognized as a high honor student for attaining a minimum of a 3.85 cumulative standing and earned the Spanish departmental award.

He also was inducted into the J.T. Vallandingham Honor Society on Honors Day. In order to be eligible for membership, a student must have completed at least 96 semester hours as a full-time student and have a 3.5 standing or better each semester. The student must have a cumulative standing of 3.7 or better. Students who have transferred to the University have a different set of rules depending on G.P.A. and number of hours taken at UC.

His summer of 2010 was spent studying in Salamanca, Spain. Following graduation, Moak plans to attend law school at the University of Kentucky.
