Heather Norton Earns the Public Health Award


Williamsburg, Ky. - On Monday April 25, University of the Cumberlands (UC) held their annual Honors Day Convocation. The program honors students, faculty, and staff for their achievements during the academic school year. One of the honored students was Heather Norton (Lawrenceburg, KY) who received the 2011 Public Health Award.

Heather, the daughter of Tim and Natalie Norton, has a 3.7 G.P.A. and has made the Dean’s List 6 out of her 7 semesters at UC being named an Honor student for attaining a minimum of 3.70 cumulative standing. She is a Presidential and Hutton Scholar as well.

While at UC, Heather has faithfully served as a resident assistant and a senior resident assistant.

Upon graduation, Heather plans to enter nursing school to pursue a Bachelor of Science in nursing and earn her Masters of Nursing. Her career goal is to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
