UC’s Cumberland Singers Bring Back the Beat at Spring Concert

Members of the Cumberland Singers are featured at their annual Spring Concert.

WILLIAMSBURG, KY – The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Cumberland Singers brought a special blend of traditional, sacred, Christian, and pop music from the 1950s to the Nell Moore Recital Hall stage on Thursday April 14th. The Spring Concert presentation was delighting to family, friends, students, and faculty.

The first half of the program featured traditional and modern Christian music including O Come, Let Us Sing to the Lord by David Angerman and Joseph Martin as well as What if His People Prayed? by Mark Hall and Steven Curtis Chapman, along with several others.

After a short intermission, the students changed costume and performed a decade’s medley called Bitten by the Beat arranged by Jeff Funk and Born to Hand Jive by Warren Casey and Jim Jacobs from the movie musical Grease.

The Cumberland Singers are an open choral group that welcomes students of all classifications and majors to be a part of the UC Music Department.
