Instrumental Chamber Ensembles Concert Showcases Talented Students and Faculty

WILLIAMSBURG, KY – University of the Cumberlands’ (UC) Music Department presented the Instrumental Chamber Ensembles concert Tuesday April 12th at 7:30 in the Nell Moore Recital Hall. A blend of students and professors performed in each of the ensembles, presenting music they have been perfecting since the start of the spring semester.

Three ensemble groups were present including: the UC Flute Choir directed by Marsha Tincher-Threlkeld, the UC Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble directed by Steven Sudduth, and the Saxophone Quartet directed by David Threlkeld.

Included in the playlist were: Allegro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place by Johannes Brahms, Spring by Antonio Vivaldi, Irish Tune from County Ferry arranged by Chris Donze, Bist Du Bei Mir by Johann Sebastian Bach, Comedy for Saxophones by James Christensen, Sarabande and Badinerie by Johann Sebastian Bach, Sailor’s Hornpipe by Henry Cowell and When Tubas Waltz by Alfred H. Bartles.
