Cumberland Names Bergman New Alumni Director

Dave Bergman

Williamsburg, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands recently named Dave Bergman, assistant to Cumberland’s President, as the new alumni director. Bergman, a Cumberland alumnus, will continue his work in development on a smaller scale while assuming the additional responsibilities of alumni services. The announcement comes after former Alumni Director Dr. Rick Fleenor’s work in church relations and the international recruiting program was expanded.

“I hope to build upon the eleven years of dedicated work Dr. Rick Fleenor has provided as Director of Alumni Services,” said Bergman.

Since its inception in 1889, University of the Cumberlands has graduated over 18,000 students. Alumni include two Kentucky Governors, five military generals, an admiral, five college and university presidents, a congressman, and a host of missionaries, legislators, judges, medical doctors, dentists, pharmacists, attorneys, teachers, preachers and business men and women.

“The alumni of Cumberland are a group of dedicated individuals seeking to fulfill their personal goals and objectives in life. We seek to build a larger and more active body of alumni in the years ahead,” said Bergman.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Ky., is a private liberal arts college in its 116th year of operation. Cumberland offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and 9 pre-professional programs, as well as online and accelerated, nontraditional programs for busy adults.
