Campbell Presents Senior Recital |

Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) senior and music major Amanda Hope Campbell performed her senior recital on Saturday, April 2nd at the Nell Moore Recital Hall in the Grace Crum Rollins Fine Arts Center on the UC campus. Campbell, a soprano, was accompanied by adjunct instructor Kay Dawn McFarland on piano. Campbell sang “Must the winter come so soon?” by Samuel Barber; “Alleluia” and “Non so più cosa son” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; George Frideric Handel’s “Non disperar”; “Nur wer die zehnsucht kennt” by Pytor Il’yich Tchaikovsky; “Neue Liebe” by Felix Menedelssohn; Gioachino Rossini’s “The Cat Duet” accompanied by Kara Watkins, soprano; and “The Lord’s Prayer” by Albert Hay Malotte just to name a few. Campbell’s recital was given in partial fulfillment of the Bachelor of Science in Music degree. She plans on attending graduate school in the fall to pursue a Master of Music in Vocal Performance. “My senior recital was something that I worked toward for the last three years,” said Campbell. I have worked hard to make it this far and it paid off in the end. I had a terrific time and I am so thankful to all of my friends and family who came to support me.” Campbell is from Williamsburg, Ky. And is a student of Dr. Jeff Smoak, chair of the music department.
