Campus Discovery Day to Be Held at Cumberlands

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands will hold the last Campus Discovery Day of the 2010-11 academic year on March 5, 2011. Campus Discovery Days introduce prospective students and their parents to many aspects of college life, including academics, faculty, athletics, campus activities, financial aid and the admissions process.

While prospective students are welcome to visit the campus at any time, Discovery Day provides enhanced opportunities not always available. “On a typical Saturday, students usually don’t have the chance to meet with faculty and students. Nor do they have the opportunity to experience first-hand what University of the Cumberlands has to offer,” said Erica Harris, director of admissions. “Hectic work and school schedules often prevent families from visiting during the week, so we want to expose them to as much as possible on these designated Saturdays,” she said.

For prospective students, Campus Discovery Day consists of a question-and-answer session with currently enrolled students, a session about college academics and the opportunity to visit information booths in the O. Wayne Rollins Center, where professors from the academic departments and representatives of various campus organizations will talk with them and answer questions. Financial aid counselors will be available to speak with parents about the costs of a Cumberlands education and about available assistance. Lunch and a tour of campus will conclude the day’s events.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. For reservations or more information, call the Admissions Office at (606) 539-4241 or 1-800-343-1609 or go to
