WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.—University of the Cumberlands and the Forcht Group of Kentucky Center for Excellence in Leadership present “Leadership in a Free and Strong America” with former Governor and Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, in the O. Wayne Rollins Center.

The New York Times bestselling author is the host of Fox News Channel’s number one rated show, “Huckabee,” and ABC Radio Network’s “Huckabee Report,” which can be heard three times daily. Time magazine has also honored him as one of the five best American governors.

Dr. Jim Taylor, Cumberlands’ president, said, “It is an honor to have Governor Huckabee, a respected and distinguished leader, address our campus family and community.”

Other scheduled events include the presentation of awards to state and local government leaders and special music by recording artist Lee Greenwood, who will sing his Grammy award-winning and CMA Song of the Year, “God Bless the USA.”

“Greenwood heightens the excitement and is the perfect complement to Huckabee,” Taylor added.

The annual lecture series is made possible by an endowment from local business owners Dr. Terry and Mrs. Marion Forcht, who founded the Forcht Group of Kentucky Center for Excellence in Leadership in 2006. The purpose of the Center is to provide programs and activities that enhance the development of leadership, character and good citizenship. Past speakers in the series have included Roy Moore, Zell Miller, Stephen Covey, Ben Stein and Karl Rove. This year’s event is the first to feature special music by a prominent figure.

For free tickets to the leadership program, visit University of the Cumberlands’ website, or call the ticket line at (606) 539-4432. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis and are required for admission.
