University of the Cumberlands Doctorate of Education Candidates Prepare for May 2011 Graduation

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. —University of the Cumberlands is pleased to announce that members of the first cohort of the University’s Doctorate of Education (Ed. D.) in Educational Leadership program have taken their comprehensive exams associated with the doctoral program and that six candidates have presented oral defense of their dissertations.

December 18, 2010, marked a day in history for the University of the Cumberlands,” said Carolyn Reaves, one of the six doctoral candidates. Reaves is the coordinator of the Cumberlands’ Academic Resource Center (ARC).

Under the leadership of Dr. Barry Vann, professor of education and geography and director of the Ed. D. program, and Dr. Michael Eskay, professor of special education, these candidates successfully reached the goal of final presentation of their projects before their committees.

Cumberlands’ Ed. D. Program began in the fall semester of 2008 and is designed for working professionals who desire to develop their research potential and those who seek to learn more about today’s educational issues.
