Communication and Theatre Arts Department Holds Honors and Awards Night

The Communication and Theatre Arts Department at Cumberland College recently held its 7th annual honors and awards night on April 21. Several students were awarded for outstanding achievement and service in the many programs sponsored by the department.

Award winners included:

WCCR Radio

• Outstanding Programming – Kevin Frye and Alisha Hackler

• 1st annual Spirit Award – Sarah Martin

• Outstanding Senior – Jeremiah Massengale

Channel 19 Television

• Spirit Award – Tyler Carr, Sarah Martin

• Programming Excellence – “Patriot Talk” (Courtney Hodges, Jennifer Roberts,

Brenda McDaniel, and Jonathan Lawson)

• Outstanding Reporter – Laura Hadley

• Hannah Award of Excellence – Michal Deaver

• Outstanding Staff Member – Jennifer Roberts

• Broadcaster of the Year – Jonathan Lawson

Forensics

• Top Debater – Sara Straub

• Best Individual – Korey Howard
