WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.– William West, a freshman at University of the Cumberlands, was the winner of the Dr. Tessa-Nelson Humphries Freshman Writing Award for 2010.

His essay titled “Jeopardy” was part of his freshman writing class with Dr. Jolly Sharp, professor of English.

William, of Rockholds, is the son of Jerry and Denies West and a graduate of Whitley County High School.
