Bishop honored at University of the Cumberlands

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Kristina Cherie Bishop was awarded the Esther A Compton Mathematics Award for the 2010 school year at University of the Cumberlands. She graduated summa cum laude on May 8 with a Bachelor of Science degree in math and applied science.

Bishop is from Big Bear City, Calif.

The Esther A Compton Mathematics Award is named for the late Miss Compton, a mathematics professor who retired from the University (formerly Cumberland College) in 1987. To be found eligible for this award a student’s GPA within mathematics major must be at least 3.70, and overall GPA must be 3.50.
