Iles honored at University of the Cumberlands |

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Debra Iles received the Music Department’s 2010 Outstanding Senior Musician Award at the 51st annual Honors Day Convocation, on April 26, at University of the Cumberlands. She was also recognized for her induction into the J.T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society, on April 26, and was named for High Honor at the University. Iles graduated on May 8 with a Bachelor of Music degree in music education. She is from Cincinnati, Ohio. Departmental awards are awarded based on a student’s academic achievement, service to the department and service to the University. The J.T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society was established in 1961 to recognize outstanding academic achievement as a separate award from the Dean’s List. To be found eligible for membership in this society, a student must have a cumulative standing of 3.7 or better. To achieve recognition for High Honor, a student must attain a minimum of 3.85 cumulative standing. |
