Katie Lanham receives award from Ms. Norma Patrick, Co-Chair of the Education Department.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Katie Lanham received the Education Department’s 2010 Special Education Award at the 51st annual Honors Day Convocation, on April 26, at University of the Cumberlands.

In December 2009 Lanham completed dual certification for elementary and special education. She served as President of the International Education Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi Alpha Delta Upsilon chapter, was a member of Kentucky Education Association Student Program and a recipient of the Bert T. Combs scholarship.

Lanham is from Corbin and plans to acquire an elementary or special education teaching position this fall.
