Maxey is from Rockholds and plans to teach in an elementary classroom this fall.

Departmental awards are awarded based on a student’s academic achievement, service to the department and service to the University. The J.T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society was established in 1961 to recognize outstanding academic achievement as a separate award from the Dean’s List. To be found eligible for membership in this society, a student must have a cumulative standing of 3.7 or better. To achieve recognition for High Honor, a student must attain a minimum of 3.85 cumulative standing.
