UC Phi Alpha Theta attends conference |

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Five members of University of the Cumberlands chapter of Phi Alpha Theta recently attended a conference for the history honor society at Northern Kentucky University. Those attending were: Kiersten Friend, a senior from Wheatfield, Indiana; Josh Lowe, a senior from Williamsburg; Taylor Bowman, a senior from Escondido, Calif.; Megan Hensley, a junior from Corbin; and Rebecca Hill, a sophomore from Rockholds, along with Phi Alpha Theta sponsor, Dr. Eric Wake. Two students presented papers at the conference. Lowe’s paper was entitled “King Louis XVI’s Loss of Authority and France’s Gain In Violence.” Friend’s paper, entitled “‘Let Not My Sex Be an Objection:’ Olympe de Gouges and the French Revolution” was named the best undergraduate paper at the conference. |
