First Priority Director speaks at UC

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands welcomed Tim Bargo to speak at Monday and Wednesday’s convocation.

Bargo addressed students with a scenario from his own life. He says, “I had a job, a house, a family, a truck, everything I could hope for, but when I would lie down at night and stare at the ceiling, I knew something was missing.” Bargo read from 1 Corinthians 15, speaking of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Bargo stated, “We try to avoid that alone time when there is nothing else to do but stare at the ceiling at night. I looked for answers and I found the answer. Christ fills the void in our lives. He transforms us.”

Bargo further discussed his understanding of God, saying, “As a kid, I thought God was kind of a bogey-man out to punish us, but like in the story of the prodigal son, God welcomes us back to him, that is grace. He promises us that we are not alone at night because he lives in us.” Bargo concluded with a brief video of Christ’s last hours titled “Sunday’s Comin’”.

Bargo serves as director for 1st Priority Organization in the Tri-County region. 1st Priority helps to support junior high and high school Christian clubs locally. Bargo has also volunteered with the Mission Service Corps.
