Cumberland's Education Department Ranks Second

Williamsburg, Ky. - The Education Professional Standards Board’s State Report Card rated University of the Cumberlands’ teacher education program at a 3.88, giving it a classification of excellent performing. The EPSB report card reflects the quality of teacher and administrator preparation programs throughout the Commonwealth as demonstrated via indicators deemed important by Commonwealth officials. The EPSB reviews the education programs of private and public institutions.

When comparing the 26 other institutions, University of the Cumberlands’ teacher education program ranked second. Cumberland ranked ahead of other sister schools including Berea, Georgetown, Asbury, Campbellsville and Union.

Cumberland Education Department Chair Gary Pate said, “We are very pleased with this ranking and feel it is reflective of how well we prepare our student teachers.”
