UC Professor Addresses International Conference on Education and Research

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Dr. Michael Eskay, professor of education at University of the Cumberlands, recently presented his paper, “Trial and Tribulation of Foreign-Born Immigrants in America’s Higher Education: Four Exemplary Cases,” at the International Conference on Education and Research in Madrid Spain. In the paper, which he hopes to publish, Eskay discusses how foreign-born African immigrants are often subject to racism and a lack of respect in the field of education.

“In this [paper], I use four exemplary cases to discuss their plight and what can be done to maximize their fullest potential in America’s higher education,” said Eskay.

Eskay holds a Master of Education degree in special education from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a doctorate in cultural special education and foundations of education from Loyola University, Chicago.
