Campus Discovery Day at University of the Cumberlands

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.—University of the Cumberlands will hold the second of three Campus Discovery Days for the 2009-10 academic year on January 30, 2010. Campus Discovery Days introduce prospective students and their parents to many aspects of college life, including academics, faculty, athletics, campus activities, financial aid and the admissions process. The last Campus Discovery Day is scheduled February 27, 2010.

“On a typical Saturday, students do not often have the chance to meet with faculty and students. Nor do they have the opportunity to visit classes and experience first-hand what the university has to offer,” said Erica Harris, director of admissions. “Because hectic work and school schedules prevent many families from visiting during the week, we want to expose them to as much as possible on these designated Saturdays,” she said.

For prospective students, Campus Discovery Day consists of a question-and-answer session with currently enrolled students, a “mock” class with a professor, a session about college academics, and the opportunity to meet individually with professors in a departmental browsing session. Parents also have the opportunity to talk to financial aid counselors. Lunch and a tour of campus conclude the day’s events.

Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. For reservations or more information, call the Admissions Office at (606) 539-4241 or 1-800-343-1609 or go to www.ucumberlands.edu.
