WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Dr. Andrew Hockert, an assistant professor of biology at University of the Cumberlands, will have a manuscript entitled “The hinge domain of the cleavage stimulation factor protein CstF-64 is essential for CstF-77 interaction, nuclear localization, and polyadenylation” featured in the Journal of Biological Chemistry (JBC) as Paper of the Week. The Papers of the Week is a feature of JBC online.

The Journal of Biological Chemistry publishes papers based on original research that are judged, after editorial review, to make a novel and important contribution to the understanding of any area of biochemistry and molecular biology.

The Papers of the Week highlight what the editors of JBC consider to be the best papers received for publication in the journal. They are selected by the associate editors and editorial board members and represent the top 1% of papers reviewed in terms of significance and overall importance. The papers are accompanied by a brief summary that explains the findings of the paper and why it was chosen for this honor.

Dr. Hockert has been a member of the University of the Cumberlands faculty since August 2007. His holds a B.S. from McMurray University and a Ph.D. from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
