Hanging of the Green

Williamsburg, Ky. - Join your friends, family, and neighbors to sing the season into our midst. University of the Cumberlands invites everyone to attend its annual Hanging of the Green at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 28, in Gatliff Chapel on campus.

UC music faculty members Rich Byrd and Gayle Majors will open the program with a trumpet and organ duet by George F. Handel from "Judas Maccabaeus." The Chorale and Cumberland Singers will also perform holiday selections, as will area children who participate in the UC Youth Chorale. The congregation will be invited to participate in carols throughout the evening as the tree is decorated with Chrismons and scripture pertaining to the birth of Christ is read.

Admission is free, and everyone is invited to the president's holiday reception, immediately following the event, at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Taylor. For more information, please contact the Music Department at 606-539-4332.
