WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.—Members of the Chapel Choir of the First Baptist Church of Nashville, Tenn., spent Tuesday, June 9, through Friday, June 12, in Whitley County, working with Appalachian Ministries, a local ministry branch of University of the Cumberlands’ Baptist Campus Ministries (BCM).
While in Whitley County, the group ministered in a variety of ways. The choir performed concerts at Williamsburg Nursing Home, Green Street Church of God, in Williamsburg, and at University of the Cumberlands. Approximately half the group conducted a Vacation Bible School at Corbin Manor Apartments in Corbin, and the other half canvassed the community of Canadatown, a rural area where Appalachian Ministries hopes a church will be planted in the future. Unfortunately, a block party in Canadatown, planned for Friday evening, was cancelled due to inclement weather. |
