WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. —Daphne Moriel was honored during the 50th annual Honors Day convocation at University of the Cumberlands, as the first student to graduate from the school with a major in Spanish. Moriel, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jose Benito Moriel, of Dallas, Tex., had planned to graduate with a double major in philosophy and political science, with a minor in Spanish. However, when she learned that the University would begin to offer a Spanish major, she changed her plans, and so on May 9, she became the first alumna of University of the Cumberlands to receive a degree in Spanish. |
