WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.—Kellie Hatter received the Education Department’s Elementary Education Award during the 50th annual Honors Day convocation, on April 27, and was graduated summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Education degree during Commencement on May 9, at University of the Cumberlands.

The daughter of Danny and Angie Hatter of Danville, Hatter graduated with a 3.97 GPA and earned dual certification in elementary education and P-12 Spanish. While at Cumberlands, she has served as a resident assistant, worked as a conversation partner for international students, been a STAR in the INSIGHTS program, participated in the marching and concert bands, and she has studied in Salamanca, Spain. Hatter has been offered a teaching position for this fall in the Fayette County School System.
