Hampton recognized for scholastic achievement


Dr. James Taylor, UC president, presents the H.N. & Frances Berger Award to Jarrod Hampton

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. —Jarrod Hampton received one of two H. N. & Frances Berger Foundation Endowed Scholarships for 2009-10 during the 50th annual Honors Day convocation at University of the Cumberlands on April 27. He was also recognized for High Honor and named to membership in Gamma Sigma Epsilon, chemistry honor society.

The son of Mr. & Mrs. Jim Glen Hampton, of Pineville, Hampton is a senior biology major with a minor in chemistry, who plans to become a medical doctor.

The H.N. & Frances Berger Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund was established at (then) Cumberland College in 1983 by Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Berger to recognize exceptionally bright young people who have demonstrated high academic ability.

Recognition as a High Honor student requires a minimum of 3.85 G.P.A.
